Transitions Thursday

I remember bringing him home from the hospital and placing him in his first bed.
I remember moving him upstairs and feeling so sad that he would be sleeping so far away in his crib.
I will remember the first night he slept in his brand new big boy bed.

Motherhood brings on emotions I never experienced before. One moment can bring tears of joy and sorrow at the same time. My baby is growing so fast that I can't stand it. I want him to stay a baby forever! But then he smiles in pride at his new big boy bed, he giggles in excitement, and everything I want doesn't matter. Its all about this boy! I love you beyond words Gavin, and even when you graduate to your king size bed in your own house, I will always remember you sleeping in your crib, with your chubby lil hands, your monkey and ucky. Sniffle

Tuesday Ten!

1. No pictures this week....my camera broke...literally I turned it on and poof...its a goner. Brad tried to fix it, and it now lies in pieces in a North Carolina landfill....poor canon..you will be missed

2. BRAS....thats right...with all this weight I have lost I have been in desperate need of new bras. I purchased three very sexy new bras from Victoria and feel like a new woman. Beneath those mom clothes lies a very sensuous woman.....shhh!

3. I HATE SCHOOL.....HATE IT...why did I take summer classes!?!?!

4. DANIELLE....I KNOW YOUR DIRTY LITTLE SECRET!
5. The Fox family made a trip to Kure beach memorial day weekend. It just so happened that one of my besties for California was visiting her boy toy. I was super excited to see her and meet the wonderful Seth. Tasha is a wonderful photographer and took several photos of us. I can't wait to see them all but she posted a preview on facebook.
6. I am running the Susan B Komen this weekend in Raleigh with two of my best gal pals. The 5K is for a good cause, but I hear it is going to be crazy and HOT. We will see...pics to come.

7. Since the race is in Raleigh I will be staying the night at Heidi's in Fuquay sans baby. Heidi has a sitter...what does this mean!?! Girls Night Out.....Watch out Raleigh...I don't know if you can handle us!

8. Why am I so excited that Spencer and Heidi broker up? I really need to get a life!

9. We finally painted Gavin's bedroom. The color came out SO dark it looks almost black. A great perk is with the cherry wood blinds the room stays dark enough for Gavin to sleep in until 9! That being said...I will probably be repainting it this week...grrrr more work.

10. I did it...Happy Danielle...hopefully I will have a new camera soon and my blog will be speckled with wonderful Gavin pics again

Tuesday Ten!

1. I am officially back in school. I am taking Statistics online and an upper level Modern Germany course. My workload is enormous! So don't expect to see much of me in the next 8 weeks....grr

2. Pheobee's haircut has cut her shedding down at least 80%. I am loving the cutback on housework! She may look like a poodle but it has grown on me!

3. Today is my Momma's Birthday. I hope you had a fabulous one Mom! I sent her flowers to her work since she never takes the day off, except for this birthday...dammit. Why did she take the day off? Not because it is her birthday, so she can pressure wash the house....are you kidding me!?

4. Brad and I finally finished the master bathroom remodel...pics to come. Now on to Gavin's vintage airplane bedroom....work work work.

5. I had a DQ cone tonight...I deserved it, my first Modern Germany class stressed me out!

6. Gavin is starting to talk about "PeePee in the Potty" all the time. Now we are using the potty several times a day, not just before bathtime.

7. I am loving this drizzle, sunshine, drizzle, sunshine weather. It keeps the air nice and cool...we have plenty of time for heat.

8. I am running out of blog posts since I just posted 15.......hummm

9. Why are they taking the Hills off the air? I love this crack tv!

10. Good night everyone. I am going to brush my teeth and try to get a good nights rest.

Navitat Canopy Tour

MY favorite part of our Ashville trip was our Navitat Canopy Tour. We ziplined in the Smoky Mountains, the moody cover in particular. Moody Cove is filled with hardwoods, some more than a 100 years old, and wildlife is plentiful throughout the property. Our zip-guide informed us that the Appalachian Mountains is the oldest mountain range in the world and was once taller then the Himalayas!

The zip-lines were up to 1100+ long and ranged from 2 to 200 ft above the ground!

Casey and I rocking the NaviTAT!

This rope bridge was my nemesis! I have never been more terrified in my life!

I was not scared to zip though!

If you stopped short you have to pull yourself to the platform.

Casey zipping like a pro!

The platforms we would zip to and from.

This was about half-way through...decked out in our zipping gear...smiles plastered on our faces.
I can't wait to do it again!
